Hello everyone : ) Long time no see...
A few days ago I got the inspiration for a new fairy tale book. And it's the Grimm's Bluebeard.
I imagine it in black and white, kind of dark, gloomy, depressing, horroristic, ... The only colour would be the red, the colour of blood, and blue - the beard.
I don't know if it will be a complete book, but I'd like it to be. I don't want it to be rushed like The little mermaid, because yes, I'm not statisfied with all of the illustrations from it. Only about 1-2 of them. It was a school project, so that's why I had to hurry. When I got the DD, I was really happy, but I got really depressed over the comments on facebook, because of the people that said this drawing does not deserve a DD; "it's not original, the pose is stolen" etc... I got sad, because I felt the truth in their words. I'm still really happy though that thousands of people liked it, and I got lots and lots of features, and reposts on tumblr. These things really warm my heart. : )
This time, I'll do lots of research, lots of studies, and pre-work done. I won't rush anything, and take my time. The time between the uploads can vary to 1 week, to 1 month or so, since I won't do slapdash works anymore.
I love the story Bluebeard, probably my favourite from the Grimm brothers. Always wanted to do something "dark", so it's the perfect timing! Also it's time to try out my new sketchbook ! There are beautiful yellowish papers in it, with a really soft texture
And P.S.: there's a fun story that happened to me last week!
Finally I decided and had the money to learn Japanese language, so I started to look for teachers in this city I moved a few months ago... I only found ONE, and the site looked really old, I thought it's not valid anymore. But I wrote her an email, and I went to her place. We were talking, I told her my mom used to read me Japanese fairy tale books when I was 1-2-3 years old, and I loved them, so my Japan-love dates from that time. She asked "what books were they?" And I said "Oh they were really small, square sized books, and you could buy them at any newsstand." She went out to the other room, and brought in some books saying "..I translated some books back then..." She showed them to me, and I screamed: "Oh my god. THESE ARE THE BOOKS I was talking about !!!" She even had the original Japanese pubplishes !!
SO it turned out, my Japanese teacher translated the books that affected my entire life in 1994... What is this, if not destiny?
Look at them, here are some covers of the Hungarian translation: seppunkata.tumblr.com/post/742…
